Local partners are organizations, institutions, waste management facilities, recyclers, cooperatives, or other entities that work with Ogyre at the local level and are responsible for managing waste after its collection.

Once waste has been caught by waste fishers, local partners oversee its sorting, treatment, recycling, or final disposal, ensuring that materials are directed to the best available end-of-life option in compliance with local regulations.

Within Ogyre’s model, local partners play a critical role in guaranteeing that collected waste is managed safely, transparently, and traceably, while adhering to environmental and social safeguards. Their work helps maximize the positive impact of Ogyre’s Waste Collection Activities (see Ogyre Protocol for more details) and supports the development of the most effective solutions available in each local context.
